In its early stages and scheduled for production and release Fall 2025, Mother Mary is a hand-cut shadow puppet music video rooted in New Orleans’ spiritual folk traditions and live music culture. It reimagines an original song by local band Sally Baby’s Silver Dollars, using analog lighting and paper puppets to create a layered visual story about grief, transformation, and the sacred feminine. Directed by Playdoh Kolo and animated with Ava Gulassa, the project culminates in a public release event with live performance, interactive puppet-making, and community celebration.
