Detroit Jews for Justice (DJJ) is a community that assists campaigns for social change and builds coalition with local Detroit organizations around issues such as water justice, housing, voting, worker rights and more.

I have had the opportunity to work with DJJ as a writer, set builder and puppeteer for their annual Purim Shpiel Fundraiser. The 2019 Purim Shpiel took a spin on the classic Purim Story of Esther to tackled issues of development and gentrification, satirizing some of Detroits big money interests such as Dan Gilbert and Mike Ilitch, and featured cardboard puppets that hopefully made you laugh.
